Early Career Researcher Association

Who We Are

We are a team of PhD students, engineers, and post-doctoral researchers committed to supporting the PARCC scientific community. We volunteer our time alongside our scientific activities to gain valuable transversal skills such as organization, leadership, and communication. Our diverse team represents different nationalities. Our ultimate goal is to support and strengthen the research center’s activities.

• Recognize the engagement and initiatives of young researchers
• Listen to and address the problems and difficulties faced by young researchers within the center
• Organize social and sports activities

Our Structure

Our structured organization helps us define our roles and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. There’s no hierarchy; everyone is encouraged to share ideas and opinions freely.

Each Vice President (VP) is responsible for organizing their events and must collaborate in advance with the VP of Finance, VP of Communication, and the administration. Our floor representatives offer support and communicate directly with early-career researchers on each floor. The President ensures adherence to our guidelines and that VPs have the necessary resources to execute their projects.

Our Initiatives

During the association’s inception, we successfully organized:

• Scientific seminars featuring project presentations, workshops on specific scientific techniques, and career development and work-life balance sessions with external speakers.
• Young Researcher Congress in collaboration with the Paris Cardiovascular Sciences Institute.
• Alumni network launch event with speakers from both the industrial and academic sectors.
• “auberge espagnole” potluck events to help new arrivals integrate and the creation of a booklet with essential information for international students and those not from the Île-de-France region.
•  “aperitivo sportivo” event and the creation of 3 sports-themed Facebook groups.
• Monthly after-work gatherings.
•  “summer party” in June and  “winter party” in December for all PARCC members.
