PARCCERs – Early Career Researchers of PARCC
Formerly known as ECR – PARCC, our association is now called the PARCCERs.
Who are we?
We are a team of PhD students, engineers and postdoctoral researchers committed to the PARCC scientific community. We volunteer our time to this mission alongside our research, which helps us develop valuable transferable skills such as organisation, leadership and communication. Our team is diverse and brings together people of many different nationalities. Our main goal is to support and strengthen the activities of the research centre.

- Listen to and address the issues and difficulties faced by early career researchers within the centre

Our structure
Our structured organisation allows us to define our roles and collaborate effectively with the various stakeholders. There is no hierarchy: everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and opinions freely. Each vice-president is responsible for organising their own events and must first coordinate with the vice-president for finance, the vice-president for communication and the administration. Our floor representatives provide support and communicate directly with the early career researchers on each floor. The president ensures that our guidelines are followed and that the vice-presidents have the resources they need to carry out their projects.
Our initiatives
Since the association was founded, we have successfully organised:
- Scientific seminars including project presentations, workshops on specific scientific techniques, and sessions on career development and work-life balance with external speakers.
- Early Career Researchers Congress in collaboration with the Paris Cardiovascular Sciences Institute.
- Alumni network launch event with speakers from industry and academia.
- Potluck lunches to help newcomers settle in, and a booklet with essential information for international students and those from outside the Île-de-France region.
- “Aperitivo sportivo” event and the creation of 3 sports-themed Facebook groups.
- Monthly afterworks.
- “Summer Party” in June and “Winter Party” in December for all PARCC members.
