The Director’s Pick: Year-End Reflections

By Jean-Sébastien Silvestre

As 2025 draws to a close, it marks the successful launch of PARCC’s new mandate. We began this journey with a clear vision and collective strength, and the results speak for themselves.

A Year of Growth and Identity This has been a landmark year for our research teams and our entire community. Together, we have:

  • Strengthened the PARCC identity, reinforcing our position as a leader in scientific innovation.

  • Launched a new communication strategy to better share our discoveries with the world.

  • Expanded the “Green PARCC” initiative, affirming our commitment to sustainable research practices.

The Strength of Our Community Progress is rarely a straight line. In 2025, we navigated complex administrative and logistical challenges. To our members: your dedication during these times has been exceptional. Your unwavering commitment and resilience have allowed PARCC to thrive against all odds. For your constant involvement, I offer my most sincere thanks and congratulations.

Looking Forward: Science as Our North Star The year 2026 arrives with a demanding global and institutional landscape. However, our mission remains unchanged: to produce high-quality, multidisciplinary science across the continuum of fundamental, translational, and clinical research.

In an uncertain world, science is our solid benchmark—the lighthouse that guides us. Our approach is rooted in humility: recognizing our biases, valuing nuance, and promoting a culture of demanding dialogue. By respecting our differences and working as one, we continue to progress collectively.

This commitment to excellence is what defines us.

After all, we are the PARCC.

As we look toward the innovations of 2026, we invite you to stay in touch with the PARCC community. Whether you are a member, a partner, or a visitor, following our journey means being part of a collective effort to advance human health through science.

Before we begin this new chapter, I wish you all a restful holiday season.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 for another year of discovery and connection.
