Launch of a New ATIP-Avenir Team
We are absolutely delighted to announce the arrival of Dr. Ivana Zlatanova at the Paris Cardiovascular Research Center (PARCC – Inserm U970) to establish her own research group.
Dr. Zlatanova’s project, titled “Decoding cell-type-specific chromatin landscape to elucidate regeneration,” has been successfully funded by the prestigious ATIP-Avenir 2024 program. This research promises to be crucial in advancing our understanding of the mechanisms driving cardiac repair and regeneration.
A Strategic Return to France
Dr. Zlatanova joins us following a remarkable period in the United States (2018–2024), where she conducted cutting-edge post-doctoral research in Molecular Biology at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
- Post-doctoral Work: Her focus was on “Chromatin landscape remodeling in post-injury and heart regeneration” under the supervision of Prof. B. Black.
- Major Publication Highlight: Zlatanova I, Sun F, Wu R et al. An injury-responsive mmp14b enhancer is required for heart regeneration. Science Advances. 2023.
The integration of this new team significantly strengthens PARCC’s established excellence in fundamental and translational cardiovascular research.
Welcome aboard, Ivana!
