Biosketch

I received a Joint Honours B.Sc. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Imperial College, London, a Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Hans Prydz from the Biotechnology Centre of Oslo, University of Oslo, and postdoctoral training with Dr. Shaun Coughlin at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, University of California, San Francisco. I started my research group at the Paris Cardiovascular Research Center after being recruited to Inserm as an Avenir Team Leader in 2009. In my group we explore how proteases and bioactive lipids regulate vascular development and homeostasis through G protein-coupled receptor signaling. One important focus of our group is to determine how sphingosine 1-phosphate signaling is engaged to regulate vascular maturation and function, and to explore the potential of sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulation for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. We are also interested in understanding roles of serine proteases in vascular biology and host defense and their contribution to inflammatory disease through cell signaling.
