European Society of Endocrinology Awards 2026!

Huge congratulations to Maria-Christina Zennaro, winner of the prestigious European Hormone Medal 2026 from the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) for her significant contributions to fundamental and clinical endocrinology!

This distinction, which honours an international researcher for their work of excellence, recognises decades of commitment from Maria-Christina, an Inserm Research Director.

Maria-Christina is a key figure in cardiovascular endocrinology. She leads the GEMMAH team (GEnetic MechanisMs of Aldosterone-related disorders – towards precision medicine in Hypertension) at the Paris Cardiovascular Research Center – PARCC (Faculté de Santé – Université Paris Cité / INSERM).

The jury praised her major role in advancing our understanding of the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of hypertension.

Her research excellence is recognised worldwide. Dr. Zennaro has been involved in numerous European endocrinology and hypertension organisations and has already received many awards, notably:

  • The ‘European Medal’ from the Society for Endocrinology (SfE) in 2018.
  • The ‘Étoiles de l’Europe’ from the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Space in 2022.

A huge well done for this richly deserved recognition, which underscores the impact of PARCC science on global health!
