CITY Consortium | Announcement of the 2026 Awardees

Launched two years ago under the University of Paris Cité’s Initiative of Excellence (IDEX), the CITY Consortium—spearheaded by the Institut Hors Murs des Sciences Cardiovasculaires—continues its mission to accelerate interdisciplinary research.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2025 edition, we are pleased to unveil the results of our second call for projects (CITY Inception and CITY Impulse 2026). Three high-impact projects, driven by top-tier inter-laboratory collaborations, have been selected for funding:

✨ EMBLEM Project Cardiomyocyte Extracellular vesicle-Mediated Bone marrow Education after Myocardial infarction 🤝 Lead Investigators: Stéphane Camus (PARCC) and Yacine Boulaftali (LVTS). 🔬 Focus: Molecular mechanisms and extracellular vesicles following myocardial infarction.

✨ BATMAN Project Pharmacological blockade of TREM-1 to treat experimental Marfan aortopathy 🤝 Lead Investigators: Hafid Ait-Oufella (PARCC) and Carine Le Goff (LVTS). 🔬 Focus: Immunomodulation and complex aortic pathologies.

✨ ENDOCARD Project Endophasic clinical linguistics in the multidisciplinary care pathway in cardiology 🤝 Lead Investigators: Giuseppina Caligiuri (LVTS) and Stéphanie Smadja (CERILAC). 🔬 Focus: Care pathway innovation through human sciences and linguistics.

These projects perfectly illustrate the core strength of the CITY Consortium: building bridges between immunology, cardiovascular biology, and the humanities to pioneer the immunomodulatory therapies of tomorrow.
