Scientific research is moving forward, and PARCC expertise was at the very heart of the discussions during the recent Scientific Day of the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (Université Paris Cité), held on March 13.

It was a day rich in discovery, where our researchers shared groundbreaking advances on critical themes, ranging from neuro-vascular development to global epidemiology.

A huge congratulations to our PARCC speakers who showcased the institute’s commitment to innovation:

  • Session Vessel & Brain: Kevin BOYE, for his work on the “guardians” of the blood-brain barrier.

  • Session Myocardial Infarction: Stéphane Camus, exploring inter-organ communication via extracellular vesicles.

  • Session Technology: Eric BUFFLE, on the use of MRI and ultrafast ultrasound to model heart valve function.

  • Session Heart Failure: Marie ANTIGNAC, addressing the vital issue of access to medicine in sub-Saharan Africa, and Sheerazed BOULKROUN, on the links between the adrenal cortex and cardiometabolic dysfunction.

We also celebrate our CITY grant laureates (supported by Université Paris Cité) for their promising collaborative projects:

  • Marie PIOLLET (Inflammation and fibrosis in heart failure)

  • David SMADJA (Valvular endothelium repair)

  • Takiy BERRANDOU (Diagnosis and risk stratification of acute myocarditis)

Together, we continue to push the boundaries of medicine to better understand and treat cardiovascular diseases.
