Biosketch

I obtained my PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology from the University of Paris 5 in 2017. My doctoral research focused on cardiovascular pathology and the immune system, with the aim of understanding how immune cells are recruited to the ischemic heart and the critical role of macrophage signaling in this process. Notably, my work highlighted how macrophage metabolism influences heart regeneration in both neonatal and adult mice following heart injury.

Following my PhD, I joined the Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), as a postdoctoral fellow. My research there concentrated on uncovering the genetic mechanisms underlying heart development and regenerative processes, with a particular emphasis on enhancer activity and transcription factors. This work contributed to building a comprehensive understanding of the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of heart regeneration.

In 2025, I began my independent research career as a young investigator at the Cardiovascular Research Center (Inserm U970). I am now leading a team investigating the chromatin landscape in heart regeneration, using zebrafish and mice as model organisms. Our goal is to identify novel therapeutic strategies to combat heart failure and improve regenerative outcomes.

Scientific summary

My work will address fundamental questions about cardiac injury-responsive enhancers in zebrafish to examine whether the development of engineered enhancers in mammals represents a novel strategy for heart regeneration. This experimental strategy, provides a unique opportunity to understand novel roles of enhancers in natural regeneration and identify innovative therapeutic modalities.
